Family Fun {Surbiton Family Photography}

It is always fun to split your family photo shoot between your home and local park or outdoor space. We then get to capture memories both inside and out. Playing at home with their toys and in their familiar surroundings relaxes the children but then we also get to have fun in the park too.

One of the first things I like to do at the beginning of each shoot is sit and chat with the children and let them know that I am there to have fun. I find almost every child is intrigued by my camera so I let them have a quick look and let them see themselves on the back of the camera. Even the most nervous, shy child soon warms up and wants me to take more photos.

If I have one piece of advice for a family photo shoot with younger children is to ALWAYS have snacks at the ready! Be prepared to use them straight away, food bribery is involved in every one of my shoots. You’ll be surprised by what they will do (even for a short while!) for a snack. Trust me, it will be worth it :-)
